Drawing Introduction and Line

Posted on: March 5, 2010

Often people associate drawing with making a close almost photographic representation of an existing thing or like to make drawing from photographs.

Blindfolded Drawing Task

Please take some time to consider you posture when you draw or how you plan to draw.

If you’re right handed you should have the object you’re drawing on the left hand side of you so that you don’t have to move your head from object to page.

It is often easiest to draw natural, organic things rather than geometric things. Perhaps this is because the complexity of organic forms such as trees, leaves or clouds is too great for the language part of the brain, which is usually dominant and cannot process such intricate shapes.

Items that aren’t symetrical are often easier to draw.

Contour Drawings

This is what natural thing I’ve chosen to draw contour. It’s complex, which will be a disadvantage, but it’s all no symetrical at all, which will be an advantage.
