Prep Ideas

Posted on: March 28, 2007

The other day I asked my friend Carmen who had a Pre-school class last year about some possible activities to do with my Prep’s this year. Here’s the list we came up with:

  • Write big letters on the carpet with chalk and get them to be the pencil. Put arrows on as well so they know which way to go.
  • Matching/Bingo games
  • Drawing patterns
  • Reading circles-guided reading (my kids are probably to young at this stage)
  • Putting on shoes activity- get a piece of cardboard shaped like a shoe with laces laced up and they have to tie it.
  • Show and Tell- every morning. Each week have a theme for show and tell (something from the garden, home a family photo etc.) and have a list and kids bring it in on a certain day. If they forget, to bad.
  • Watch some movies with the kids, or parts of movies to illustrate a point or get their interest in a topic.
