Play Day
Today I planned to play for most of the day. I had brought in some cut out ferns which I did over the public holiday. I wanted to try and inspire them to put it together a bit more and work on all that.
My plan was interrupted [...]
Rotations:
My rotations today could have been better, but they still worked.
We did the letter F, an obstacle course, a game called numbers, and some vine making.
The first group to do the obstacle course did it outside- Rhys came and set it up for me, which was nice of [...]
Rotations:
This morning was Nadia’s birthday. We all sung happy birthday to her and she stood up the front and we asked her what she got. I tried to bring kindness week back in a meaningful way by asking what we could do for Nadia to be kind. [...]
Today went reasonable well. I have started writing in my teachers journal for reflections, and then meaning to type them up here. As you’ve no doubt noticed I’ve been a bit slack with the reflections of late, but that’s mostly because I’ve been working after school as well and so I am incredibly tired. Plus [...]
This week I’ve learnt a lot. I’m not going to go into much detail in my reflections, sorry, I can’t really do that. I knew that these three weeks would be a lot of hard work, and that I would be putting in a lot of effort. [...]
So Donna and I planned for the Brain Conference, (the lesson plan is located here: brain-conference-day-3.doc) even though we were probably going to have a guest speaker talk. We thought it was a good idea to be prepared.
Doctor Rina, the guest speaker did come, and she did an excellent job, the kids loved it. More [...]

Be animated- talk about what’s happening right now, around us, but in relation to the brain.
Q: “Why do we think?” A: [...]
Today was my first day back with the kiddies. It was good… and bad. All at the same time.
I felt really prepared and ready for the day, but as things do, they change. Even the best laid plans sometimes come unstuck, and while I won’t say mine were the best laid, they were still laid [...]
Brain Conference- Day 1.
Donna and I were really nervous about doing this brain conference just because we aren’t really experts on the brain. Chris assured us that it didn’t need to be in depth, they were only 4 and 5 year olds, after all. We took this on board when we planned.
Here is the lesson [...]
The pressure is on.
I know I haven’t been posting lately, but there hasn’t been much to post about. I am stressed and snowed under with BLP and my three week prac preparation. The prac is basically under control, I just need to work on my BLP now. It’s due on Friday :-( .
Just letting you [...]
